Creating a fun, safe, healthy environment where each and every camper receives the personalized, attentive care that leads to unforgettable summer experiences is what daily life at Camp Kweebec is all about. With a deeply experienced and knowledgable professional staff tending to the needs of each child, at Kweebec we make our very first concern the health and welfare of our campers so that the only thing that they need to worry about is having the time of their lives.
A resident physician, pediatric nurse practitioner and registered nurse working directly under the supervision of owner and Pediatrician Maddy Weiser are available 24 hours a day. Our modern, fully-equipped and air-conditioned health center serves the needs of every Kweebec camper. Parents can rest assured that the medical needs of their children are being directly overseen by Dr. Maddy and her staff. Dr. Maddy has always, and continues to treat every child at Kweebec with the same level of care that she would provide for her own children, Rachel, Josh and Amy.
To provide Kweebec’s unique individual care and attention for each child, we select a mature and enthusiastic staff. Our Counselor Staff consists of young men and women of college age who have a sincere desire and commitment to working with children. In fact, many of our staff were actually campers themselves at Kweebec. Each year we interview both new and returning staff members to ensure that they still meet our standards. This personal touch carries over to our large adult supervisory staff that works daily with counselors and campers. Kweebec’s supervisors are highly experienced in dealing with the interests and concerns of children and are adept at providing effective leadership and direction to the counselor staff. These Supervisors work under the direction of skilled Head Counselors for Boys and Girls Camp. A counselor camper ratio of 1-3 is maintained to insure close individual care.
Only the finest and freshest food is served at Camp Kweebec. All food is “home cooked” by our staff of experienced chefs. In fact, this summer marks our head chef’s 33 year with us at Kweebec! Baking is done daily on the premises. Meals are served buffet style and are well balanced; offering a huge salad bar and a large selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. An alternative table consisting of low fat and non-fat choices is available everyday. We also offer vegetarian and gluten-free options to our campers.
