Camp Kweebec is nationally recognized as one of the finest and longest standing summer camps in the United States and is an American Camping Association Accredited Camp. Since Kweebec's inception in 1935 we have been meeting the highest standards in the camping industry. Recently Kweebec was chosen by Good Morning America to be featured on ABC News with Robin Roberts and Bill Weir. Please feel welcome to check out our feature story.
Camp Kweebec is a private, coed sleepaway camp for children 6 to 16 years of age. Located on 186 acres in the Perkiomen Valley, we are approximately 30 minutes northwest of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Kweebec has been in continuous operation for more than 75 years and Les and Maddy Weiser have been the active owners and directors for more than 40 years.
Enrollment at Camp Kweebec is limited to 150 boys and 150 girls. This keeps the camp large enough to provide a sufficient number of children for activities in every age group, but small enough to insure that each child receives lots of personal attention, and feels he or she is an integral part of the Kweebec family.
What a Summer Means at Camp Kweebec
A summer at Kweebec can be the adventure of telling stories around a campfire, the excitement of scoring a goal in a lacrosse game, the pride of singing in a play, the thrill of riding a trail on horseback,
the fun of participating in a fishing tournament, the spirit of being on a really great basketball team, or the exhilaration of sailing on our lakes.
BUT IT IS SO MUCH MORE THAN ALL OF THIS... A summer at Kweebec is the opportunity to participate in experiences that will long be remembered. We believe the adventure of camping expands the developing personality of a child as can no other experience. It is a child-oriented world, free from the often pressurized and highly structured adult world.
Kweebec has a very warm, down to earth, fun-filled, family atmosphere where our campers are free to dream, think, learn and grow. With skilled and understanding adults in the background to protect his or her sense of security, our campers develop their abilities to build self-confidence and independence. "Kweebecers" learn to compete within healthy guidelines, understanding that "to try" is what is important, and that self-satisfaction is the reward.
When you choose Camp Kweebec you have placed in us a deep trust to protect the welfare of our "very precious cargo" --your children. We appreciate and respect that trust and extend every effort to create the kind of community where every child can flourish and return to you at the conclusion of the summer, happy, healthy, and more self-assured. Kweebec is a camp where friendships grow into lifelong relationships. As our campers will tell you, coming to Kweebec is not so much about leaving home, but going to their second home.
